    Stantec is seeking qualified candidates for a Senior Mine Planner & Financial Analyst for our Salt Lake City, Utah office. This position requires an individual with broad mining experience and proven technical competencies to support our industrial and mining sectors. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical solutions related to mining engineering, mine planning, and financial analysis as well as the ability to participate and be a technical lead on multi-disciplinary teams of engineers. The ability and desire to assist with business development is also favorable. The Salt Lake office is uniquely situated with a strong team of junior to mid-level professionals with great growth potential.

    Your Duties


    Primary responsibilities under the direction of the regional manager:

    1. Diverse background in industrial and mining projects;
    2. Ability to design and analyze using planning software programs such as MineSight 3D, Carlson, Minemax, Vulcan, or similar packages;
    3. Ability to use and analyze using efficiency and financial programs such as MineMax, Deswik, Tableau, or similar packages;
    4. Provide mine planning and financial expertise;
    5. Assist in developing and expanding our role with new and existing clients;
    6. Mange tasks and direct and develop our younger staff as required;
    7. Understand of contracts and various pricing structures for projects;
    8. Attention to detail and strong QA/QC skills;
    9. Understanding of project related risks;
    10. Capability to develop budgets, determine project scope, establish schedules, process appropriate paperwork, and interacting with clients;
    11. Ability and desire to engage in business development (e.g. develop proposals and identify project opportunities).

    Your Capabilities and Credentials


    • Minimum of a B.S. in Mining, Civil, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering with preference given to an M.S. degree;
    • Minimum of 10 years of experience;
    • Strong technical writing and communication skills;
    • Ability to develop a strong network in the local and national marketplace;
    • Exceptional organizational, technical, leadership, written and oral communication and attention to detail skills;
    • Willingness to pursue a P.E. or QP during the first year of employment.
