    Your Duties

    Stantec is seeking a junior Geologist/Hydrogeologist to support our team of environmental professionals in our St. Paul, MN office. The position will assist in the completion of project level work to support property due diligence, environmental remediation, and brownfield redevelopment projects. Primary responsibilities will be related to performing key tasks to support   conducting and managing contaminant and hydrogeologic investigations, interaction with regulatory agencies, remediation alternatives  evaluation, remedial design and maintenance, and statistical analysis of geologic and groundwater chemistry data.


    Responsibilities are anticipated to include but are not limited to the following:

    • Perform and document field data collection activities.
    • Conduct multi-media sampling (soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, soil gas and indoor air, etc).
    • Analyze and interpret environmental data
    • Perform geologic and hydrogeologic research
    • Collaborate with other scientific and engineering professionals within the practice
    • Prepare technical reports and assist in proposal preparation
    • Oversee advancement of soil and rock borings, installation of groundwater monitoring wells, manage subcontractors and minor soil excavation projects
    • Prepare soil boring log and well construction diagrams
    • Complete applicable company and client required health & safety training (including OSHA required training) and follow health & safety policies and procedures

    Your Capabilities and Credentials


    • A BS/MS degree in geology, hydrogeology, geochemistry, or related field with 4 – 8 years of relative experience
    • Strong knowledge of state and federal environmental regulations
    • Practical ability to analyze field and technical data, perform research, demonstrate technical knowledge, and solve problems
    • Experience in preparation of technical reports and proposal writing
    • Strong knowledge of field sampling techniques
    • Strong organizational and communications skills (ability to communicate in writing, verbally and graphically
    • Be an advocate for health, safety, and clients.
    • A working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
    • 40-hour OSHA Hazwoper training.
    • Minnesota Professional Geologist Registration or ability to obtain in the future
    • A valid driver's license and good driving record.
    • Must pass a pre-employment physical and drug and alcohol screening.
