Stantec is currently seeking a motivated Senior Traffic Engineer to join our team in Charleston, South Carolina! Qualified candidates will have 10+ years of experience in traffic engineering studies, traffic analysis, traffic signal design, and signing and pavement marking plans.

Stantec’s Charleston office is conveniently located near two interstates and is within walking distance to a variety of restaurants and shopping.

• Work as part of a team and also independently in evaluating and applying traffic engineering principles.
• Utilize various design software/tools (Synchro, HCS, Sidra, etc.) for traffic analysis for a variety of conditions and needs at specific intersections, along arterial corridors, and for freeway segments.
• Lead the development of signal design plans, specifications, and estimates based upon agency standards.
• Interact directly with DOT and local government clients and review agencies at project meetings and ensure that all client project designs meet and exceed engineering standards.
• Build and maintain relationships with key traffic engineering clients and review agencies.
• Work with multi-disciplinary teams on tasks such as traffic safety analysis, intersection design, signal design, roadway signing and pavement marking plans, and traffic and signal operation analysis.

• Completion of a four (4) year college level academic program in Civil Engineering with a Bachelor of Science degree. A Master of Science degree with an emphasis in transportation is a plus.
• 10+ years of experience with a South Carolina PE registration or ability to obtain it in 6 months.
• Traffic modeling experience
• Traffic studies/analysis experience as well as previous DOT experience
• Proficiency with Synchro and MicroStation a plus.
