Stantec Consulting Services is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Financial Analyst, located in Tampa, FL.

As a Financial Analyst within the Financial Services team, you will be supporting financial, economic, and management consulting services to local governments. You will assist in evaluating client-specific situations and requirements, and recommending solutions to complex business, strategic, and operational issues. The successful candidate will also assist the project team in interactive meetings with our clients to identify and analyze issues affecting their organizations and key stakeholders.


  • Serve as a supporting member of teams at client meetings, performing tasks such as interactive demonstrations of work product and facilitating workshops.
  • Assist in developing quantitative models to support client business challenges across multiple industries for a variety of complex issues.
  • Support and cooperate as needed with business development staff in responding to client requests, RFQs, and RFPs.
  • Meet performance goals and objectives as assigned, with respect to client-specific demands, stated delivery milestones, and training activities.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Degree in business, finance, economics, statistics, engineering, accounting, or related fields are required with a suitable GPA of 3.25 or higher.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Preferably 1 year or more of post-undergraduate working experience required, experience in management consulting and financial analysis.
  • Working knowledge of local government organizational structure, accounting / financial reporting, and types of services they provide is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel required including quantitative modeling and analysis required. Proficiency with PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat Pro and other business systems preferred. GIS experience is a plus.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills.
  • Capable of efficiently working independently as well as with a geographically dispersed team.
  • Willing to travel as needed. In the first year, travel may be up to 20%. As you develop your skills for success and become a crucial part of the project team, travel requirements may increase.
