Stantec’s Community Development Sector Marketing & Communications Team has an exciting opportunity for a talented and experienced Marketing & Communications Specialist in Boston, MA. You’d be joining a team that’s passionate about the services they provide, are dedicated to their clients, and focused on achieving brand excellence together.


Reporting to the Community Development Sector Marketing & Business Development Manager, you will support the sector on a national scale throughout the US and Canada, on various marketing and communications projects, both internal and external.  Stantec’s Community Development sector provides landscape architecture, planning, civil engineering, and geomatics across the sports & recreation, brownfields, master planned communities, and green infrastructure sub-sectors. You will play a key role in implementing content marketing strategies, business plans, public relations plans, and client outreach strategies across these areas.


This position is full-time one year contract position.

Your Duties

Tasks include:

  • copy writing and editing for promotional items, such as ecards, newsletters, and website
  • assisting with proposals and presentations for strategic pursuits
  • coordinating webinars and podcasts
  • developing brochure and qualification packages
  • putting together award submissions and speaking abstracts

Content marketing and writing will be a major focus, as you will provide vital support in generating and purposing messaging, stories, and insight from practitioners and team counterparts for use on a variety of platforms.

Your Capabilities and Credentials


  • Post-Secondary degree in communications, public relations, English, journalism, or marketing.
  • Minimum 4 – 5 years of experience in a marketing, communications, public relations or journalism-driven role.
  • Professional writing samples required.

Other requirements:

  • Detail-oriented and organized, with exceptional prioritization skills
  • Ability to effectively balance multiple priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a group as well as independently motivated
