An opportunity exists in Stantec's Florida-Water-Sector for a highly motivated Senior Civil Engineer with water/wastewater design/planning skills. This is a part-time position to be based in our Sarasota, FL location.

Your Duties

  • Perform detailed studies, modeling and design of municipal water and wastewater systems and related facilities 
  • Prepare plans and specifications and other contract documents for water and wastewater facilities
  • Manage and supervise engineers and technical staff to ensure that the projects’ needs are met in a timely and effective manner
  • Meet with clients, municipal officials, public, and contractors to review project needs and coordinate field conditions 
  • Manage project schedule and budget
  • Manage the process for obtaining approvals from various agencies
  • Research issues related to wastewater and water resources that impact individual projects
  • Write reports and design briefs to document analyses
  • Coordinate presentation and design drawings, in AutoCAD

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Must have a Bachelors of Science in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical, or Engineering related field. Masters’ degree preferred.
  • Professional Engineer in Florida or in another state with ability to obtain in FL within 12 months is a requirement.
  • Must have a minimum of 15 years experience in engineering analysis and design of water, wastewater and stormwater conveyance and/or treatment facilities
  • Must be self-motivated individual possessing strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, along with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Experience in providing construction support services, such as change in field conditions resolution, representing agencies at field meetings and observation of construction is desirable
  • Experience with various hydrologic and hydraulic software platforms used in the planning and design of infrastructure is a plus
