Your Duties

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Engagement in all phases of projects from conceptual planning to commissioning
  • Planning and execution of electrical design, preparation of drawings and specifications, and assistance during procurement and construction
  • Working effectively with support personnel and being a team
  • Participation in client discussions
  • Multi-disciplinary coordination with Architecture, Interior Design, HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Protection disciplines. 
  • Lighting design utilizing lighting calculation software
  • Power distribution of 120/208 volt and 277/480 volt systems 
  • Power system layouts for new and renovated facilities including power corrections for building equipment and HVAC and plumbing equipment. 
  • Building systems design including fire alarm, security, telecommunications networks, and nurse call systems.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution preferred
  • 7+ years of post-graduation experience in the design of electrical systems of buildings
  • Experience in consulting engineering environment is strongly preferred
  • Effective interpersonal and people management ability
  • Design experience using AutoCAD 2011 and Revit. Or more recent version and proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word and Excel); Revit experience is a definite asset
  • Excellent communication skills (interpersonal and written) with your collaboration with team members in a multi-disciplined environment
  • Interest/experience in the application of green engineering principles; LEED AP certification is a definite asset
  • Professional Engineer registration or ability to obtain PE registration upon completion of required experience. PE license is a plus.
  • Experience in Healthcare, Education, Lab, or Commercial projects. 
  • Lighting design utilizing lighting calculation software, AGI experience is a definite asset.
