Your Duties

We are currently looking for a motivated individual who is well-versed in all codes who can work independently to provide training for staff, oversight on plan reviews, and who can assist department leadership with a variety of client needs. The selected candidate will have a commitment to providing accurate and efficient plan reviews and inspections with a focus on client satisfaction.

 

Plan Review responsibilities include:

  • Analyzing and interpreting various construction documents, from complex to simple, for all disciplines, according to design, local amendment, and federal regulations; 
  • Communication to clients documenting approvals and deficiencies; 
  • Calculating fees per contracts; 
  • Resolving project issues; 
  • Analyzing structural engineering; and
  • Managing communication and relationships with internal and external clients.

Inspection Responsibilities include:

  • Performing on-site combination inspections for all disciplines on an as-needed basis; 
  • Providing written reports indicating deficiencies and approvals; 
  • Maintaining records; 
  • Responding to communications regarding corrections, approvals, and jurisdictional processes; 
  • Some travel to local sites

Your Capabilities and Credentials

Qualified candidates will have:

  • a Bachelor's degree in building construction, engineering, architecture or a related field plus 5 years of experience in municipal plan review, building inspection, construction contracting or management
  • Or no degree and a minimum of 10 years of experience in municipal plan review, building inspection, construction contracting or management.
