Your Duties

Project Manager (Design and Construction Projects)

 

We currently are seeking a Project Manager/Project Director to be based in Boston, MA.  Successful candidate will have a minimum of 10 years experience in owner’s project management for large scale design and construction projects. The Project Manager/Project Director may work on a variety of project types including Healthcare, Higher Education, Commercial and Mixed-use. Recent healthcare/hospital project experience is a requirement. Projects may include ground up construction or additions and renovations to existing facilities.

 

Project Manager Responsibilities:

  • Assist the client in the organization of a effective decision making structure and strategy
  • Participate in the design process providing budget, schedule, regulatory and constructability input.
  • Engage, direct and manage engineering consultants and architects as needed to complete projects.
  • Review and interpret plans and specifications.
  • Manage relationships and interface on a daily basis with client, and other consultants including engineers, contractors, architects and colleagues on a variety of construction projects.
  • Provide day-to-day management, technical direction, supervision and coordination of construction activities.
  • Review project RFIs and Submittals to ensure what is being submitted aligns with client’s expectations to ensure responses are being submitted within required timeframes.
  • Develop, manage and update project schedule incorporating all phases of the project cycle.
  • When required, work with facility management teams to coordinate project team access, fire alarm/sprinkler impairments, electrical service or HVAC systems disruptions, etc.
  • Manage multiple projects in various phases in various locations at any given time.
  • Tour project sites daily during construction to ensure work in place is compliant with design documents and the progress is in alignment with presented schedules.
  • Chair and lead regularly scheduled project team and client only project meetings. Publish meeting minutes to document what was discussed/agreed to.
  • Administer punch list and project close-out activities, including acceptance and completion of project.
  • Report project status regularly to project team and client.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of owner’s project management for design and construction projects with significant healthcare project management experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, architecture, real estate, facilities management/planning preferred.

 

Additional Qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal, communication and writing skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to juggle multiple tasks.
  • Ability to travel to project sites daily.
  • Experience managing teams of design and construction professionals.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work across multi-level stakeholder groups.
  • Knowledge of healthcare facilities and relevant regulatory requirements
  • MS Windows, Office and Project experience required; AutoCAD, BIM, Revit, eBuilder, Blue Beam experience a plus.
