We have an opportunity for an experienced and motivated Design Engineer in our Sacramento, CA office. The ideal candidate would thrive in a team environment and contribute to all aspects of the project development and design process.

Your Duties

  • Assist project manager / project engineer with client, consultant, and project team coordination on projects
  • Perform and assist on all aspects of design (grading, streets, water, sewer, storm drain, horizontal control, signage & striping plans, etc.)
  • Prepare design documents, including: drainage and utility calculations and reports, water quality reports, and Engineers Opinion of Probable Cost
  • Support the preparation of Technical Specifications and Special Provisions
  • Coordinate design elements both internally and externally, and participating in QA/QC review

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
  • California PE required, OR the ability to obtain within 1 year.
  • 5-7 years of professional engineering experience on land development (infrastructure, residential, or site work) projects.
  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD/Civil3D and drainage software required.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft office software (word, excel) and Microsoft outlook.
  • Good organization, coordination, and managerial skills necessary to maintain project schedules and budgets.
  • Good technical writing skills; capable of writing reports, letters and technical specifications.
  • Good verbal communication skills and "people" skills.
  • QSP / QSD certification a plus, but not required.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
