Stantec, formally Edwards & Zuck, has an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Designer/Engineer - Buildings in our Morristown, NJ office.

Your Duties

  • Attend meetings with architects, owners, and building managers to discuss future and/or current projects.
  • Prepare basic deliverables and products including calculations, drawings, and specifications.
  • Examine field conditions as required to support development and completion of projects.
  • Handle multiple complex assignments simultaneously.
  • Projects will include commercial and residential buildings (new and retrofit), interior commercial fit outs, trading floors, data centers/mission critical, and electrical distribution infrastructure design.
  • Design experience in lighting controls, energy code compliance, lighting/power circuiting design, fire alarm design and system selections, generators/UPS’s and critical systems analysis and design.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years of  related industry experience (MEP Consulting strongly preferred).
  • Experience designing building electrical systems, including power, fire alarm and lighting.
  • BSc or MS in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program.
  • P.E. and LEED professional are a plus.
  • Thorough understanding and knowledge of the architectural and engineering industry.
  • Thorough knowledge and interpretation of code compliance requirements and industry standards.
  • Must have in depth knowledge of general building construction and electrical systems.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and BIM/REVIT.
  • Strong communication skills.
