Traffic Engineer in Training will conduct traffic analysis, microsimulation modeling, roadway design, prepare signal plans, traffic management plans, signing plans, and pavement marking, assist with data collection, report writing, and other technical assignments as steps toward professional development and registration as a Professional Engineer. Field work and limited travel may be required.
Completion of a four (4) year college level academic program in Civil Engineering with a Bachelor of Science degree is mandatory. Course work with emphasis in disciplines related to transportation engineering within the four year program is preferred. Registration as an Engineering Intern is preferred, but not mandatory. Experience with CAD and traffic analysis software is a plus, but not necessary.
