Our Williamsburg or Richmond Virginia offices are seeking an on-call Project Archaeologist. The successful applicant will be responsible for assisting with the management of archaeological projects and staff and will be based in either the Williamsburg or Richmond, Virginia, office. Responsibilities include managerial tasks associated with archaeological assessments and Phase I, II, and III excavations, writing technical reports, and assisting Project Managers/Principal Investigators with field projects. The position requires work in the field and office, as well as travel on a project by project basis. Supervise activities of all field personnel and assign, direct, and evaluate their work. Maintain daily paperwork, field maps, notes, photographs, vehicles, and field equipment. Must have a valid driver’s license and be legally eligible to work in the United States. Must have exceptionally strong writing and verbal communication skills and the ability to manage numerous projects and coordinate with staff in local and remote locations.
