Stantec's Berkley Office is looking for a Structural Designer.  Must have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and a minimum of 1 year experience.

Your Duties

The role of a Structural Designer is to work as a team member on projects of varying size under the guidance of a licensed professional. The Structural Designer should be able to assist with engineering tasks by helping evaluate, select, specify, and engineer certain systems or products for a project. A Structural Designer will perform a variety of tasks which may include Revit design, calculations, and field work.  Additional responsibilities to include:

  • Assist with the development of job specific discipline specifications. 
  • Works with and coordinates with architectural, interior, and other engineering disciplines for coordination of the project.
  • Perform field work under direction of others
  • Perform calculations using company standard software
  • Must have an understanding of the design process, understand how buildings are constructed
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the senior engineering staff
  • Mentors and instructs less senior staff

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required
  • Ability to hand sketch and communicate concepts and ideas to others effectively
  • Strong experience with modeling/drafting software (Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD)
  • Experience with general business and industry software (Microsoft Office suite. Newforma tools, etc.)
  • Ability to check own work for accuracy and completeness
