Responsibilities:

Responsible for all aspects of the Building Engineering Leader including maintaining existing client relationships, building new client relationships, targeting and winning new work and endeavoring to ensure there is a consistent stream of repeat work. Providing leadership and mentoring as needed to consistently achieve design excellence and profitability. Ensures work is routinely of the highest quality, functionally and fiscally.

Your will represents the firm as a knowledge leader at symposia, conferences and similar external functions. Conversant in and passionate about trends in Building system design and how these trends are influencing Academic and Healthcare sectors..

Works with the Project Manager (PM) on individual projects to set project goals and ensure project success.

Participates in a range of strategic leadership activities to help define the firm's mission and ensure its recognition as pre-eminent in the US New England Market.

• Supervise a project team of designers and technicians;
• Plan, schedule, conduct and coordinate detailed design work;
• Develop construction quantities, estimate construction costs and utilize estimating software to create project cost reports;
• Perform all technical work, review work, engineer larger/complex projects, select systems and equipment, and oversee standards and development of design drawings;
• Maintain schedules and budgets on all assignments;
• Maintain overall teamwork quality;
• Perform field investigations and support job site construction activities;
• Perform business development activities;
• Perform client presentations, interface with clients and assist in developing a business base with new clients.



Qualifications:

This is a dynamic, "hands-on" role for a person who enjoys accepting responsibility in a team-oriented, client-driven environment. Candidates should be self-starters able to make an immediate contribution to the team.
Other qualifications include:
• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, minimum 10 years experience;
• Professional Engineer Registration with ability to apply in additional New England states;
Sustainable Project experience or LEED Certification preferred.
• Knowledge of HVAC, PL, FP and instrumentation systems and equipment;
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral;
• Client contacts in the New England area

A thorough knowledge of the building practice with experience in Heathcare and Academic work, including master planning; marketing, proposal preparation and client relations. Substantial and varied experience involving, planning and design of complex projects. Experience in all aspects of project design and management.

This is a Senior Associate Track appointment contingent upon level of experience and qualifications.

This is a unique opportunity to personally influence the development of an international design firm's US Academic, and Healthcare practice.
